Lead Application Architect at Humana (Kentucky Remote)

Lead application architecture for Humana’s Azure-based integration platforms, with responsibility for enterprise APIs, data architecture, governance, and cloud modernization. Guide the Specialty Integration Hub and translate business priorities into secure technology solutions and delivery roadmaps.

Description

  • Design and develop application architecture solutions aligned with enterprise standards and direction
  • Conduct technical planning, develop architectures, and revise specifications as needed
  • Create specifications for new products, services, applications, and service offerings
  • Evaluate the compatibility and integration of proposed standard products and services
  • Advise executive leaders on significant functional strategies
  • Lead the Specialty Integration Hub’s architecture design, governance, and strategic direction
  • Establish and enforce integration architecture standards, design principles, and best practices
  • Work with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to turn objectives into technology solutions and delivery roadmaps
  • Advance enterprise strategies for APIs, data integration, and cloud architecture
  • Provide architectural leadership across solution lifecycles through design reviews, technology assessments, risk analysis, and governance
  • Mentor and support technical teams
  • Coordinate with fellow architects on key deliverables and timelines
  • Own end-to-end Specialty application architecture across systems of experience, operations, and insight
  • Travel occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • At least eight years of experience as a senior developer on large IT projects
  • Extensive experience designing scalable, secure enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, App Services, and Azure Functions
  • Expertise designing big data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures
  • Experience with Delta Lake, Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, and Azure Data Factory
  • Strong experience designing secure API layers with Azure API Management
  • Experience with REST, GraphQL, or gRPC
  • Understanding of event-driven integration with third-party SaaS products
  • Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus, or Kafka
  • Experience applying modern DevOps practices
  • Interest in supporting an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Home internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds
  • Dedicated workspace with no ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI and HIPAA information
