Junior System Administrator - Hosting and Cloud Infrastructure

Description

  • Administer and optimize helloly GmbH’s hosting environment running AlmaLinux, CloudLinux, Proxmox VE, and cPanel
  • Create and maintain Ansible playbooks that streamline recurring operational work
  • Apply current AI tools to improve efficiency and assist with troubleshooting
  • Complete occasional on-site data center tasks near Vienna, including racking, cabling, hardware replacement, and maintenance
  • Track system performance, availability, and security
  • Join the on-call rotation after completing the onboarding period
  • Investigate and resolve operating system, network, and application issues
  • Work effectively with colleagues in both virtual and in-person settings

Requirements

  • Completed IT education or equivalent preparation, such as an HTL qualification, IT specialist training, bachelor’s degree, or relevant career-changing experience
  • Some practical experience administering Linux systems
  • Sound knowledge of Linux, especially Red Hat-based distributions, AlmaLinux, and CloudLinux
  • Interest in virtualization platforms including Proxmox VE
  • Early hands-on experience with Ansible and Bash or Python scripting, or strong motivation to develop these skills
  • Experience with, or interest in, organized workflows that use AI tools
  • Based in the greater Vienna area
  • Able to work independently, methodically, and with strong self-management in a remote environment
  • Basic knowledge of DNS, web servers, cPanel, and mail hosting
  • Very strong written and spoken German skills
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • LPI-1/2 or RHEL certifications are advantageous
