Nuvem Contábil is a Rio de Janeiro-based digital accounting firm serving online and service-based businesses. Its cloud platform combines bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and financial management with company formation, tax and labor compliance, and consultative accounting support. The firm works with e-commerce and dropshipping stores, IT companies and developers, infoproduct creators, affiliates, and other service providers, using a client portal and automated workflows to make accounting and fiscal administration more manageable.
Junior Accounting Assistant — Remote Brazil
Support accounting entries, reconciliations, month-end close activities, and client service at Nuvem Contábil. This full-time role is 100% remote and based in Brazil.
Description
- Record and classify accounting transactions
- Complete bank, financial, and accounting reconciliations
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Help prepare and review trial balances, balance sheets, and income statements
- Integrate financial, tax, payroll, and accounting systems
- Review imported data for discrepancies in balances, classifications, and reconciliations
- Help prepare and review balance sheet, customer, supplier, bank, tax, and payroll accounts
- Organize records, supporting evidence, and closing documentation
- Assist with ancillary accounting and tax filings
- Identify client outstanding items and track related tasks in Gclick
- Provide support to clients on accounting matters
- Escalate inconsistencies, missing documentation, and items requiring validation
- Assist with audits, information gathering, and data requests
- Contribute to process automation, standardization, and continuous improvement
- Prepare, organize, and reconcile closing information for review by the Accounting Analyst or department lead
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Experience in an accounting department, ideally within an accounting firm
- Knowledge of accounting entries, classifications, and reconciliations
- Basic knowledge of accounting close procedures, trial balances, balance sheets, and income statements
- Ability to analyze transactions and detect discrepancies
- Proficiency with business systems, digital tools, and spreadsheets
- Strong organization skills for deadlines, outstanding items, and multiple concurrent requests
- High attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to follow defined processes, procedures, and checklists
- Discipline and growing independence in a fully remote work environment
- Candidates based in Rio de Janeiro are preferred
- Experience with Presumed Profit taxation, holding companies, SCPs, or the Third Sector is a plus
- Experience with Domínio Sistemas, Conta Azul, and Bling is a plus
- Experience integrating financial and accounting systems is a plus
- Intermediate Excel or Google Sheets skills are a plus
- Familiarity with Slack, Gclick, Google Drive, and Google Calendar is a plus
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools is a plus
- Interest in automation, standardization, and process improvement
- Recent coursework in accounting close procedures, reconciliations, CPCs, financial statements, or automation is a plus
