Head of Platform and Data — Poland (Remote)
Lead Humaneva Group’s platform and data strategy for clinical research infrastructure and business data operations. Guide architecture, reliability, modernization, governance, compliance, and engineering team development.
Description
- Build and lead the Platform & Data function across data engineering, data quality, and DevOps reliability
- Define the target architecture and operating model for infrastructure, environments, and deployment platforms
- Improve platform reliability with observability, incident response, automation, and Infrastructure as Code
- Modernize the data warehouse, pipelines, and integrations serving clinical and corporate systems
- Implement automated data quality controls, governance practices, and dependable self-service data capabilities
- Integrate security, privacy, and regulatory compliance into platform and data engineering, including GDPR, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable
- Manage platform and data expenditure
- Oversee external vendors and implementation partners as required
- Work with Product, Clinical Operations, Finance, Quality, Security, and the CTO organization to translate business needs into platform priorities
- Develop the platform underpinning clinical products and the data ecosystem supporting the business
- Introduce dependable, governed ways of working while modernizing data platforms and integrations
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or data engineering
- At least 3 years of experience leading engineers with responsibility for production reliability
- Proven success hiring, developing, and managing senior engineering teams
- End-to-end ownership of a data platform or warehouse modernization
- Production experience with cloud architecture, CI/CD, automated deployment, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience implementing service levels, monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices
- Strong knowledge of security, access control, privacy, and audit requirements
- Ability to stabilize existing systems while developing new capabilities concurrently
- Professional fluency in English
- Experience in clinical research, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated industry
- Experience with AWS and Snowflake, including their cost models
- Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, or CDISC
- Experience with Power BI, SAS, or similar analytics platforms
- Experience managing geographically distributed teams
