Grains Relationship Manager - Chicago Hybrid

Relationship Manager supporting Hedgepoint Global Markets’ US Agriculture desk in grains. Manage agribusiness client relationships and help deliver commodity derivatives risk-management strategies.

Description

  • Build and expand a client portfolio while maintaining durable relationships
  • Provide consultative guidance on commodity derivatives and structured solutions based on client needs
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers to develop and execute risk-management strategies
  • Present market analysis and reports with practical recommendations for clients
  • Coordinate between clients and Sales, Trading, Operations, and Quant teams to ensure effective service delivery
  • Track client activity, results, and satisfaction while addressing emerging issues and opportunities
  • Identify prospects and cross-selling opportunities to support business development
  • Keep current on commodities, derivatives, and broader market developments
  • Serve the US Agriculture desk by supporting existing clients, developing new business, and applying OTC and listed derivatives to agribusiness risk management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Agriculture
  • Two to three years of experience in grains merchandising, brokerage, agribusiness sales, or a related service area
  • Knowledge of agriculture markets and client segments such as farmers, cooperatives, elevators, ethanol plants, mills, feedlots, and other agribusiness entities
  • Established client relationships or industry contacts within agriculture
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AI tools
  • Active Series 3 License or willingness to obtain one with company support after joining
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Customer-oriented approach to consultative relationship management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand the commercial requirements of agribusiness organizations
  • Capacity to work independently while collaborating with global teams
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Previous exposure to commodity markets, including grains, livestock, soft commodities, or energy
  • Understanding of risk-management strategies in international markets
  • Professional certification such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with futures and options for physical agriculture hedging, plus Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency preferred.
