Frontend Developer - Synergy Learning (Hybrid, UK)

Build accessible interfaces for Moodle and Totara learning platforms at Synergy Learning. Create high-quality customer solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.

Description

  • Build professional user interfaces for learning platforms including Moodle and Totara
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget
  • Produce outcomes that effectively address customer needs
  • Maintain high standards for UI development, implementation, and internal and external documentation
  • Work with non-technical colleagues to share emerging web development practices and techniques
  • Prepare accurate estimates for development tasks
  • Pursue training, workshops, seminars, industry events, conferences, and webinars to strengthen skills and industry knowledge
  • Take part in the performance enablement programme through one-to-one meetings, skills development, and agreed objectives
  • Report to the Development Services Manager

Requirements

  • Live in the UK or Republic of Ireland and have the right to work there
  • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification
  • Understand virtual learning environments such as Moodle and Totara
  • Demonstrate excellent HTML and CSS skills
  • Have experience using JavaScript frameworks
  • Bring professional PHP development experience
  • Have worked with CSS preprocessors such as SCSS or LESS
  • Understand version control systems such as Git
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of web accessibility standards
  • Show a proven record of testing, debugging, and resolving development issues including cross-browser compatibility problems
  • Desirable: experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
  • Desirable: experience with the LAMP stack, including Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP
  • Desirable: experience with Node.js and NPM
  • Desirable: experience using task runners such as Grunt or Gulp
  • Desirable: familiarity with bug and issue tracking tools such as JIRA
