Finance Intern, Bookkeeping and Financial Automation at Univeris

Description

  • Post daily transactions, process vendor invoices, and support accounts payable and receivable activities in NetSuite ERP.
  • Use Onyx, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude to extract receipt data, develop NetSuite and Excel analysis models, and conduct preliminary variance reviews.
  • Assist with month-end close by reconciling multi-currency bank accounts, corporate cards, and NetSuite ledger schedules.
  • Review, verify, and archive regional statutory tax invoices, including Mexico’s Facturas/CFDI, Chilean Boletas, and Spanish Facturas, to support audit readiness.
  • Work with Spanish-speaking vendors and local operations leads to resolve billing questions, obtain tax-compliance documentation, and standardize payment workflows.
  • Keep asynchronous documentation and task records current across BambooHR, Confluence, Slack, and Google.
  • Report to the Financial Controller.

Requirements

  • Be in the final year of, or near completion of, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent accounting program, or hold a Master’s degree.
  • Have at least two years of experience in finance, bookkeeping, or accounting operations.
  • Possess business-fluent or native written and spoken Spanish and English proficiency.
  • Have direct experience with or practical familiarity with Oracle NetSuite ERP.
  • Demonstrate strong MS Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and PivotTables.
  • Have hands-on experience using LLMs such as Gemini and Claude, plus automation tools such as Onyx, for workflow automation, code or formula generation, and data analysis.
  • Understand financial statements and core accounting principles.
  • Understand chart of accounts structures, revenue, COGS, operating expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  • Bring exceptional attention to detail, strong ethics when handling confidential financial PII, sound numerical reasoning, and self-direction in a distributed or remote work environment.
  • Be able to analyze financial data and investigate unexpected results.
