EY Financial Risk Technology Engineering Manager

Lead EY consulting engagements that modernize cloud-native financial risk platforms and capital markets technology. Guide engineering teams across insurance, credit risk, trading, finance, and regulatory systems.

Description

  • Architect, modernize, and implement insurance and credit risk platforms
  • Define target architectures and modernization plans for risk and finance systems
  • Direct end-to-end modernization of capital markets platforms across front-, middle-, and back-office functions
  • Own architecture for VaR, stress testing, sensitivities, XVA, counterparty risk, P&L, and related capabilities
  • Build cloud-native platforms for large-scale model execution and risk computation
  • Lead distributed computing, workflow orchestration, and event-driven architecture initiatives
  • Improve the performance of analytical and risk-processing engines
  • Set standards for resilience, scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence
  • Develop enterprise data models and integrate data across risk engines, data lakes, and operational systems
  • Support data lineage, governance, auditability, and reconciliation
  • Manage globally distributed teams spanning architecture, development, data, and platform workstreams
  • Coach architects, developers, and risk technology specialists
  • Oversee technical governance, architecture reviews, engineering standards, and delivery quality
  • Partner with client executives and senior stakeholders on technology strategy, delivery planning, and risk management
  • Convert complex business, regulatory, and analytical needs into production-ready solutions

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 5 or more years designing or delivering risk technology solutions
  • Demonstrated delivery experience in insurance, banking, or capital markets
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk, insurance risk, and relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native risk platforms
  • Track record of leading architecture and engineering teams while working effectively with business stakeholders and executives
  • Experience managing distributed teams and complex technology delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, or a related discipline
  • Strong risk-domain knowledge combined with solution architecture and hands-on engineering expertise
  • Advanced or expert proficiency in Java

  • Previous consulting experience preferred
