Description

  • Design and upgrade electrical systems for new and existing power plant projects while contributing to project team leadership.
  • Create single-line, relay and metering, AC and DC schematic, synchronizing, point-to-point wiring, cable schedule, and grounding drawings.
  • Prepare detailed electrical wiring drawings.
  • Review vendor drawings and integrate relevant information into project designs.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams under the Electrical Project Lead’s direction.
  • Participate in field walkdowns and data-gathering activities at client facilities.
  • Support engineers in defining initial design requirements.
  • Prepare wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in drafting, or a high school diploma combined with equivalent technical design experience.
  • At least five years of detailed wiring design experience creating single-line, relay, and metering diagrams for medium-voltage and 480V systems.
  • Experience reviewing electrical layout drawings that show equipment outlines and interface points.
  • Familiarity with digital control systems.
  • Ability to create wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians.
  • Ability to support engineers with initial design requirements.
  • Ability to interpret plans and details accurately enough to communicate wiring termination requirements.
  • Extensive MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience on power plant or large-facility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of drafting and design practices and principles.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with engineering and design teams across disciplines during power plant design.
  • Ability to qualify for unescorted access at a nuclear station.
  • Must not require U.S. work authorization sponsorship.
