Description

  • Create large-scale, real-time services and applications powered by massive datasets for internal APIs and external products.
  • Develop tooling, libraries, frameworks, and services for security, research, and data platform programs.
  • Turn prototypes into dependable internal tools, services, and platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to planning and technical discussions across engineering and product teams.
  • Build and operate data pipelines, messaging systems, databases, caching layers, and cloud or on-premises services.
  • Partner with Machine Learning Engineers and Security Researchers on solutions that influence security outcomes.
  • Deliver highly available, scalable data services for Censys’s Internet Map Connections team.
  • Identify ownership of Internet assets and establish relationships between them.

Requirements

  • At least five years of software engineering experience building distributed systems.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming; Censys uses Go.
  • Experience with a cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with or familiarity with message queues such as AWS Kinesis, Google Pub/Sub, or Kafka.
  • Experience working with databases such as Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, HBase, or Cassandra.
  • Understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, and service reliability.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and technologies.
  • Ability to write clear, testable, maintainable code.
  • Strong communication skills and effective collaboration with engineers and product managers.
  • Willingness to use AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
  • Familiarity with gRPC or REST is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data serialization technologies such as Protobuf or MessagePack is a plus.
  • Experience running containerized services in Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Understanding of Internet architecture and how machines and services communicate through protocols and standards is a plus.
  • Security domain knowledge is a bonus.
