Director of Revenue Accounting

Lead revenue accounting, ASC 606 compliance, accounts receivable, and financial reporting at Savvy Wealth. Build scalable processes for its growing registered investment adviser and broker-dealer business.

Description

  • Oversee daily revenue accounting, processing high-volume transactions and recognizing revenue accurately under ASC 606.
  • Lead the monthly revenue close, including journal entries and reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables.
  • Oversee accounts receivable accounting, including custodian cash application, reconciliations, and aging analysis.
  • Ensure commissions are calculated and recognized accurately under US GAAP.
  • Conduct quarterly CECL aging analysis under ASC 326.
  • Maintain compliance with SEC and FINRA rules and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze monthly close fluctuations and explain significant changes in revenue, commissions, and accounts receivable balances.
  • Work with Operations, RevOps, Sales, Legal, and other business partners.
  • Support the design, implementation, testing, and improvement of revenue accounting systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on revenue and accounts receivable accounting.
  • Coordinate audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors during the year-end audit.
  • Maintain documentation for revenue, commission, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Develop processes and policies and build the Campfire revenue module.

Requirements

  • CPA and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of accounting experience, including 3 or more years in financial services.
  • Direct experience at a wealth management firm, RIA, or broker-dealer.
  • Understanding of AUM fee billing, custodian cash flows, and revenue share payout models.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 326.
  • Experience with custodian cash application, accounts receivable accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with common ERP systems and revenue platforms such as NetSuite, Campfire, Orion, and AdvicePay.
  • Experience working across departments to influence change.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ownership and independence, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive initiatives to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in the Manhattan office four days per week.
  • Based in New York or willing to relocate there.
  • Must address current or future US work sponsorship requirements.
