Database Administrator – Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS

Description

  • Manage, optimize, and enhance database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments
  • Configure, administer, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases throughout development, testing, and production
  • Execute database upgrades, migrations, patches, and version changes across on-premises and AWS environments
  • Track and improve database performance, availability, capacity, and structural design
  • Tune SQL and PL/SQL queries, indexes, and database objects
  • Design and run backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions
  • Manage AWS database services and supporting infrastructure, including RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch
  • Apply database security, authorization, and access-control practices to meet compliance requirements
  • Handle incidents, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to ongoing improvements in the database environment
  • Partner with development and application teams on database design, performance, and integration challenges

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience administering Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS database services
  • Hands-on experience with performance tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery, and high-availability architectures
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database principles
  • Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS services such as RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, and IAM
  • Understanding of database security, user administration, and role management
  • Background supporting business-critical production systems and managing incidents
  • Very good German and English language skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Patroni, or PostgreSQL replication technologies is advantageous
  • Experience with Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Oracle Enterprise Manager is advantageous
  • Experience automating tasks with Bash or Python is advantageous
  • Experience with Java or Spring Boot environments and large transactional databases is advantageous
  • Visa sponsorship is unavailable
