Data Analyst Intern

Analyze insurance data, build dashboards, and share insights that support strategic decisions and operational improvements at American Family Insurance.

Description

  • Work with an analytics team to turn data into business insights for decision-making across American Family Insurance.
  • Report to a data analytics leader.
  • Gather, combine, analyze, and interpret data from internal and external sources.
  • Create reports, dashboards, key performance indicators, trend analyses, and root-cause analyses.
  • Spot trends and opportunities, and assess operational improvements, costs, risks, and profits.
  • Apply analytics and metrics to improve processes and produce data-based forecasts.
  • Share findings with stakeholders and contribute to business strategy recommendations.
  • Take on other assignments or project work based on skills, achievements, or experience.

Requirements

  • Maintain student status at an accredited four-year college or university during the internship, with graduation expected in August 2027 or later.
  • Be pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree.
  • Pursue a major or program relevant to the internship.
  • Microsoft Office experience is preferred.
  • SQL experience is preferred.
  • Perform basic arithmetic and apply basic statistics.
  • Communicate orally and in writing about product development issues with different departments and management levels.
  • Pass applicable background checks as a condition of the offer.
  • Sign a non-disclosure agreement covering proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions as a condition of the offer.
  • Sponsorship is unavailable unless the posting specifies otherwise.
