Credit Risk Analyst – Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Credit Risk Analyst supporting Guidehouse client engagements through lender oversight, credit modeling, portfolio analytics, and financial reporting. The role develops statistical analyses, dashboards, and reports for client leaders and stakeholders.

Description

  • Support analytical work involving lender oversight, risk monitoring, and portfolio analytics.
  • Apply economic theory, statistical methods, and risk-modeling techniques to credit analysis.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse, predictive scoring, Tableau dashboard, risk analytics, lender-performance reporting, and ad hoc reporting capabilities.
  • Prepare ad hoc and recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for client leadership and stakeholders.
  • Record quality checks, data sources, and reporting methodologies.
  • Collect, test, clean, and integrate data from multiple systems.
  • Evaluate data quality, consistency, and completeness.
  • Interpret statistical results and create tables, charts, concise summaries, analytical memoranda, and model documentation.

Requirements

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust; candidates with an active Public Trust or suitability are preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen because of the nature of the client engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in financial data analysis or financial services consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing statistical, econometric, or cash-flow models for credit analytics.
  • Able to apply academic research to econometric and modeling challenges and explain results concisely.
  • Able to work from the client office in Washington, DC, at least three days per week.
  • Expertise in ordinary least squares (OLS), logistic regression, and survival models.
  • Proficiency with at least one statistical analysis tool, such as R, Python, or MATLAB.
  • At least three years of related experience in loan analysis, credit analytics, and portfolio management.
  • Experience in Big Four or consulting environments.
  • Familiarity with Small Business Administration (SBA) loan rules covering eligibility, collateral management, and underwriting requirements.
  • Experience running statistical jobs in a cloud environment such as AWS.
  • Experience drafting reports on economic and financial topics.
  • Able to collaborate with colleagues who have varying levels of skill and knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
