Corporate Accounting Manager - RTX (Remote, Massachusetts)

Lead corporate accounting at RTX with responsibility for US GAAP, equity, stock compensation, reporting, audit support, controls, and ERP improvement initiatives.

Description

  • Oversee daily corporate ledger activity and technical accounting in accordance with RTX policy and US GAAP
  • Manage incentive compensation, stock-based compensation, equity, captive insurance, risk management, and other specialized corporate accounting areas
  • Conduct analytical reviews of corporate balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Prepare or support quarterly and annual equity-related financial reporting deliverables
  • Assess accounting risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate resolutions
  • Work with corporate functions and RTX business units to record significant, unusual, and complex transactions accurately and update estimates
  • Support enterprise initiatives such as ERP implementation and account-reconciliation improvements
  • Drive corporate accounting process enhancements through the CORE framework and related tools, including AI-enabled efficiencies
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation, with emphasis on ERP-related changes
  • Draft accounting memoranda and supporting documentation for complex or unusual transactions
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support special projects for corporate leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual financial statement audit

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of relevant experience, an advanced related degree and at least five years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Background researching and applying technical accounting guidance, including US GAAP
  • Experience with quarterly business results, balance sheets, P&L statements, senior-management support, and periodic reviews
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Availability for flexible scheduling during quarter-end and year-end close, including occasional meetings outside local business hours or weekend and holiday support
  • Ability to travel periodically to the RTX Corporate Office in Farmington, Connecticut, as needed
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • At least three years of experience with SAP, OneStream, and BlackLine preferred
  • Experience supporting ERP or financial-system implementations preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint preferred
  • Experience creating or improving process documentation, internal controls, or reconciliation procedures preferred
  • Experience partnering across functions on complex or unusual transactions preferred
  • RTX segment accounting or aerospace and defense industry experience preferred
  • U.S. citizenship required
