Content Strategy Manager, Health & Fitness (New York City Hybrid)

Lead branded health and fitness content strategy for HearstMade, Hearst Magazines’ branded content studio. Oversee RFP strategy, editorial delivery, and freelance writer and creator management.

Description

  • Develop content strategies for health and fitness-focused RFPs
  • Create concepts and recommendations shaped by client goals, audience insights, platforms, formats, and distribution plans
  • Collaborate with the HearstMade Health & Fitness Director, marketing, sales, account management, editors, and other cross-functional partners
  • Guide projects as the strategic and editorial lead from initial idea through final execution
  • Coordinate multiple projects and deadlines at the same time
  • Select, brief, and oversee freelance writers and creators
  • Edit work and provide direction, feedback, and support throughout production
  • Write, edit, package, and publish branded health and wellness content
  • Create explainers, product roundups, athlete and patient profiles, and other editorial content
  • Maintain quality and consistency across writing, editing, packaging, review rounds, and final materials
  • Resolve stakeholder feedback while protecting editorial standards, audience value, and client goals

Requirements

  • At least four years of experience in editorial, content strategy, branded content, digital publishing, or a related area
  • Substantial experience producing health, wellness, and/or fitness content
  • Ability to turn business goals and audience insights into effective, creative content strategies
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content packaging abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of digital content formats and social media platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram and TikTok
  • Experience briefing, editing, and managing revisions for freelance writers and creators
  • Strong communication and presentation capabilities
  • Experience with branded campaigns, RFP responses, client-facing projects, or custom content programs is preferred
  • Knowledge of publishing CMS platforms, SEO and AEO practices, ecommerce content, and production workflows is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple assignments in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work in the New York City office four days each week
