Client Virtualization Solutions Architect (Remote, Alaska)

Design and support Citrix VDI, ADC, Nutanix, and VMware environments for SEARHC. Help maintain secure virtual infrastructure for a Southeast Alaska nonprofit health consortium.

Description

  • Build hosted Windows desktop infrastructure and application and load-balancing environments
  • Monitor incident alerts that may affect infrastructure or business operations
  • Track work through ticketing and change-control processes
  • Deploy, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot systems
  • Support Nutanix and VMware hardware, software, and maintenance
  • Collect application-team and vendor needs for load balancing and VDI image and application provisioning
  • Deliver senior-level operational support
  • Design, implement, maintain, and support Windows virtual environments and Citrix ADC
  • Lead technical workstreams involving virtualization
  • Define virtual endpoint environments in line with enterprise architecture plans and strategies
  • Work with IT, business units, functional teams, field staff, and internal and external auditors
  • Record the platform’s production configuration in an As-Is Diagram
  • Carry out other assigned duties
  • Take on supervisory responsibilities when required

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field
  • Citrix certification required
  • CITRIX-CCA certification required
  • CCA-V certification required at minimum; CCP-V or CCE-V preferred
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience engineering, implementing, and supporting enterprise Nutanix and/or VMware virtualization systems
  • 10 years of direct experience with Citrix-based solutions
  • At least 7 years designing, engineering, implementing, and maintaining solutions in secure environments that follow U.S. healthcare regulations and guidelines
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience implementing, operating, and maintaining virtualization, storage, data protection, and networking solutions
  • Experience monitoring virtualization and storage infrastructure for performance issues, tuning, and optimization
  • Strong Citrix engineering experience, including architecture and deployment
  • Extensive load-balancing experience
  • Experience managing Active Directory and Azure
  • Windows Server administration experience
  • Group Policy management experience
  • DNS experience
  • Strong networking skills and IT infrastructure knowledge
  • Advanced ADC (NetScaler) and virtual desktop skills
  • Advanced computer systems administration and automation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate, teach, collaborate with, and train technical staff
  • Ability to distill key information for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
