Category Assistant – Boca Raton Hybrid

Support category merchandising for Office Depot’s B2B distribution and retail operations. The role covers vendor promotions, SKU-level forecasting, assortment planning, inventory, and category performance.

Description

  • Partner with the Category Merchant on daily merchandising execution.
  • Administer vendor funding while tracking market activity and category results.
  • Carry out operational merchandising work across the assigned category.
  • Analyze and execute plans that support sales and margin objectives.
  • Set promotional schedules and assess SKU-level results with vendors.
  • Identify business trends and recommend adjustments to broader plans.
  • Forecast SKU-level inventory requirements using historical sales patterns.
  • Assist with assortment and promotion planning, vendor negotiations, inventory sell-through, and financial administration.
  • Participate in vendor meetings, share business updates, and communicate organizational needs.
  • Review promotional and product data for forecasting, budgeting, assortment planning, line reviews, vendor scorecards, pricing, and ad hoc reports.
  • Share setup details for new, promotional, and discontinued products.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Ecommerce partners to implement SKU-level strategies.
  • Strengthen vendor relationships through product and industry pricing expertise.
  • Provide additional support to the Merchandising team as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Background in business administration, marketing, or merchandising
  • Retail industry experience
