Casualty Claims Examiner, Atlanta On-Site

Manage complex casualty claims for AssuranceAmerica from its Atlanta office. Provide file oversight, claims guidance, audits, training, and regulatory compliance support.

Description

  • Manage complex and high-exposure casualty losses
  • Report to the National Casualty Claims Manager
  • Partner with claims management to provide direction and oversight
  • Maintain compliance with best practices and state and local guidelines
  • Report findings and recommend improvements to current practices and regulatory standards
  • Review home-office casualty files and advise on compliance with best-practice guidelines and local regulations
  • Guide claims staff on proper handling and risk mitigation
  • Provide authority and guidance on bodily injury claims involving coverage, liability, and damages
  • Give leadership and adjusting staff feedback to improve file handling
  • Collaborate with claims staff, frontline claims management, senior claims management, and legal counsel
  • Respond to questions and participate in discussions about claim-handling procedures
  • Research complex coverage issues, industry trends, and related subjects
  • Support targeted audits and management re-audits
  • Help design and deliver casualty claims training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least five years of claims-adjusting experience
  • At least two years of experience adjusting or overseeing highly complex casualty claims
  • Previous claims management or auditing experience is preferred
  • Strong communication and analytical skills for working with associates, managers, agents, and vendors
  • Proven ability to build and coordinate effective teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence presenting critical information to senior management
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Leadership skills and sound independent judgment when evaluating multiple facts
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, automated production environment
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet company standards for attendance, punctuality, professional appearance, and workplace conduct
