Business Architecture Consultant - Virginia Remote

Support ReefPoint Group’s federal consulting work for Veterans and government agencies as a remote business architecture consultant. Improve business processes, taxonomies, and enterprise information models.

Description

  • Analyze business processes, workflows, and operational challenges to identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead stakeholder discussions, workshops, and process discovery sessions
  • Create current-state and future-state process maps and workflow documentation
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and operational risks, then recommend improvements
  • Support process redesign, implementation, and transformation initiatives
  • Work with leaders, operational teams, and technical stakeholders to align execution
  • Prepare process maps, recommendations, implementation plans, and operational analyses
  • Support change management and adoption activities for operational improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness programs
  • Analyze, develop, refine, and document enterprise information models and taxonomies
  • Define and apply taxonomy principles, decision criteria, naming conventions, and information relationships
  • Evaluate business contexts, concepts, entities, relationships, definitions, metadata, and data dictionaries to improve consistency
  • Facilitate stakeholder validation sessions to confirm business meaning, process relationships, information needs, and proposed structures
  • Evaluate whether information assets are ready and suitable for specific business use cases
  • Produce documentation, findings, recommendations, briefings, and reusable governance and implementation artifacts
  • Connect business processes, capabilities, information concepts, data assets, and organizational responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in business architecture, business process analysis, information management, enterprise architecture, business analysis, or related consulting
  • Experience creating and documenting current-state and future-state business process models, including gaps, pain points, dependencies, handoffs, and improvement opportunities
  • Experience supporting business reference models, capability models, process taxonomies, or comparable enterprise business architecture artifacts
  • Experience maintaining reusable process documentation, including process maps, definitions, metadata, supporting materials, and Process Asset Library content
  • Experience supporting Enterprise Information Management initiatives involving business concepts, information domains, entities, relationships, definitions, metadata, taxonomies, or data dictionaries
  • Ability to assess relationships among business capabilities, processes, information, data assets, systems, and organizational responsibilities
  • Experience applying taxonomy principles, naming conventions, classification structures, and documentation standards
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews, workshops, or working sessions to gather requirements, validate process flows, clarify business meaning, and build consensus
  • Ability to turn complex business and operational information into clear process models, reference artifacts, findings, recommendations, and briefings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across business, data, technical, and leadership audiences
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, synthesize information from multiple sources, and create structured outputs from evolving requirements
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
