Description

  • Deliver in-home personal care to older adults according to individualized care plans and Illinois Department on Aging requirements.
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Support mobility, transfers, and daily living activities.
  • Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance when needed.
  • Handle housekeeping, laundry, and other household tasks.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support that enhance clients’ quality of life.
  • Help with errands, grocery shopping, and appointment transportation when applicable.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for every client.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • A high school diploma or GED, one year of comparable human services or dependent-care experience, or current GED enrollment with successful coursework progress.
  • Prior professional or personal experience caring for older adults or people with disabilities is preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient, and dependable approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to clients’ homes.
  • Ability to lift, stand, bend, and assist clients as needed, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
