Amentum Architect Engineer / Engineering Manager – Leiston Hybrid

Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and nuclear project delivery for Amentum’s UK engineering services. Oversee technical strategies, safety-case alignment, stakeholder coordination and project risk management.

Description

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and engineering activities
  • Deliver complex engineering solutions within time, cost and quality targets
  • Guide projects through the investment delivery process from FEED to solution delivery
  • Serve as Architect Engineer, resolving technical challenges and defining effective strategies
  • Manage stakeholders and interfaces to implement technical solutions
  • Create and deliver clear engineering strategies
  • Coordinate a broad and varied stakeholder group
  • Deliver work across the full project lifecycle, from bidding and requirements definition through design, implementation and system commissioning
  • Work with Case Officers to align safety-case strategy with design development
  • Contribute to the preparation of safety-case documentation
  • Identify, assess and manage technical risks
  • Support the Project Manager with resourcing, costs, schedules, change control and technical risk management
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and Framework Directors to achieve successful client outcomes
  • Capture client-needs intelligence and develop innovative solutions with colleagues

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification, such as an HNC or HND combined with substantial experience
  • Extensive experience in engineering design
  • Chartered Engineer, Fellow or comparable demonstrable professional experience
  • Technical expertise in Mechanical, Process, EC&I, Structural Integrity or Civil Engineering
  • Professional leadership style supported by a strong technical background
  • Experience in the nuclear industry or an equivalent safety-case environment
  • Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated engineering delivery experience in a nuclear or highly regulated setting
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate project progress clearly
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information to diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to develop project strategies for technical problems and interface management
  • Experience delivering project tasks in line with applicable codes, standards and best practices
  • Working knowledge of project management principles
  • Experience managing change control and controlling or mitigating project risks
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
  • Experience working on the UK fleet of operational or decommissioning nuclear power plants is highly desirable
