AI Engineer / Data Scientist Senior Associate at PwC in New York City
PwC is seeking a Senior Associate to develop and evaluate responsible AI and machine-learning systems for assurance clients. The role combines technical control analysis, reusable evaluation tooling, and clear recommendations for stakeholders.
Description
- Design and refine AI and machine-learning algorithms for business applications and innovation
- Convert raw data into actionable insights that support business decisions and growth
- Develop advanced AI solutions with Python and related programming tools
- Build and maintain data infrastructure and integrations for complex analysis
- Apply data-modeling methods to strengthen data quality and reliability
- Contribute to speech-recognition algorithms and natural-language-processing tools
- Independently test AI systems for behavior, performance, robustness, bias, explainability, and failure modes
- Assess technical controls and evidence, documenting findings, limitations, and recommendations
- Create reusable evaluation tools, automated tests, reference datasets, monitoring capabilities, and evidence workflows
- Manage complex situations, anticipate client needs, and deliver high-quality solutions
- Develop client relationships while managing and motivating colleagues
- Maintain professional and technical standards while supporting business strategies and client solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- At least two years of professional experience
- Proficiency in AI implementation and complex data analysis
- Programming experience, including Python for data modeling
- Knowledge of machine-learning and deep-learning methods
- Experience integrating data infrastructure and managing data quality
- Experience owning production AI systems through deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and incident response
- Ability to assess failure modes, bias, drift, hallucinations, explainability, and guardrails
- Ability to make architecture trade-offs that produce measurable, defensible outcomes
- Ability to measure and explain technical and business outcomes using defined methods
- Ability to communicate technical findings and limitations to clients and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Compliance with the firm's code of conduct and independence requirements
