AI Engineer / Data Scientist, AI Experienced Associate — PwC, Chicago Onsite

Build machine-learning systems, data solutions, and evaluation tools for PwC assurance clients. Help support reliable, responsible AI deployment and technical control assessments.

Description

  • Design and implement AI systems that turn raw data into actionable insights
  • Develop and deploy machine-learning models for client decision-making
  • Work with team members to integrate AI solutions into existing data infrastructure
  • Analyze complex datasets to uncover patterns and trends
  • Use Python to create scalable AI applications
  • Apply data-modeling methods to improve data quality and integration
  • Wrangle and preprocess data for analysis
  • Build and maintain relational database systems for efficient data storage
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations during client engagements
  • Help design and run tests covering AI-system behavior, performance, robustness, bias, explainability, and failure modes
  • Assess technical controls and evidence, documenting findings, limitations, and recommendations
  • Create reusable evaluation tools, automated tests, reference datasets, monitoring capabilities, and evidence workflows
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and methodologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least one year of professional experience
  • Preferred academic background in analytics or data science, artificial intelligence or robotics, computer science or information systems, or engineering
  • Proficiency in Python and programming languages used for AI solutions
  • Experience with complex data analysis and pattern recognition
  • Ability to test, debug, and document AI-enabled systems
  • Knowledge of methods for evaluating failure modes, bias, drift, hallucinations, explainability, and guardrails
  • Ability to measure and communicate technical outcomes using defined metrics and evaluation methods
  • Ability to explain technical findings and limitations clearly to clients and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Must not require PwC sponsorship through the H-1B lottery now or in the future, except as allowed under the stated policy
