- At least 3 years of experience in UI/UX, visual, or product design.
- A portfolio featuring UI/UX work, design systems, data visualizations, and user research.
- Advanced Figma skills, including components, auto layout, and interactive prototyping, or equivalent experience with Adobe XD, Sketch, or Illustrator.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA visual design standards, including contrast, legible typography, and colorblind-friendly data palettes.
- Able to explain design decisions clearly to scientists, program managers, and engineers.
- Experience designing interfaces for scientific, meteorological, geospatial, or complex data-monitoring dashboards.
- Experience using or adapting component-based design systems, particularly USWDS.
- Able to work a hybrid schedule: two days per week in the Boulder, Colorado office and three days from home.
