Senior Software Engineer, Protocol Operations and Trust
Develop simulation testing systems for General Motors autonomous vehicle software, including backend services, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration. Improve test creation, execution, and quality processes through automation and reliable engineering practices.

- Lead delivery of simulation test suites that validate autonomous vehicle software.
- Create and maintain tests at scale with partner teams’ test-development tools.
- Develop orchestration services and pipelines that connect incoming requests with test execution from end to end.
- Automate and standardize test creation and ongoing maintenance.
- Connect partner evaluation systems to support test development, triage, and retirement decisions.
- Work with Autonomy, Systems, Safety, and customer teams to build tooling, interfaces, and automation.
- Strengthen code quality and software architecture through reviews and technical leadership.
- Coach engineers in software development and simulation-testing practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and analytics platforms to improve productivity, code quality, and simulation testing.
- Turn ambiguous technical challenges into practical solutions and advance prototypes into production.
- Deliver quickly while maintaining rigorous engineering standards.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of experience designing, developing, and operating production software, backend services, data platforms, or infrastructure systems.
- Strong Python expertise, including production coding, unit testing, code review, debugging, and reliability practices.
- Experience developing scalable backend systems, APIs, microservices, workflow orchestration, or internal engineering platforms.
- Experience operating cloud-based production systems, including deployment, observability, performance, and operational reliability.
- Experience designing or operating data pipelines and processing systems with SQL, NoSQL, and related tools for large-scale operational, telemetry, or time-series data.
- Experience creating automated tests, validation and quality checks, CI/CD processes, or release workflows.
- Ability to lead high-level technical design documentation and coordinate delivery across multiple teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to turn unclear technical challenges into practical, maintainable solutions.
- Adaptability, ownership, and the ability to work effectively in changing technical environments.

- Preferred experience includes autonomous vehicles, robotics, simulation, evaluation systems, automated test generation and execution, workflow orchestration, human-in-the-loop quality processes, release management, anomaly detection, observability, time-series analysis, safety-critical products, cloud-native deployment, containerization, and distributed systems.
