Senior Executive Coding Auditor – Chennai Hybrid
Review inpatient medical records and validate diagnoses, procedures, codes, and DRGs for clinical support and compliance. Mentor coding teams while maintaining audit quality and healthcare coding standards.
विवरण
- Review selected inpatient medical records to confirm that assigned codes and DRGs are supported by clinical documentation
- Code diagnoses and procedures to the required level of specificity
- Validate discharge disposition and present-on-admission accuracy
- Apply IPPS methodology during coding audits
- Mentor and train fellow coders
- Deliver continuing feedback and education to coding staff and Clinical Documentation Specialists
- Follow established SOPs, project protocols, and operational instructions
- Complete audits accurately while meeting quality and productivity targets
- Escalate concerns and identify recurring trends
- Maintain daily productivity, clarification, and other relevant logs
- Consult the Manager or Team Lead on coding clarifications
- Respond promptly to emails from the Manager
- Maintain team compliance with HIPAA and OIG requirements
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferably, or a Bachelor’s degree in science
- Current CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) or CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder) certification is required
- At least two years of experience in inpatient DRG coding or auditing
- Prior experience auditing inpatient DRG cases
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Exposure to 3M software and NLP tools
- Strong Excel skills
- Flexibility in supporting work requirements
- Effective communication skills
- Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
