  • Own the mobile app’s architecture, performance, release processes, and technical roadmap.
  • Guide technical direction and mentor the two engineers on the mobile team.
  • Improve engineering standards while keeping delivery practical.
  • Work with engineering and product leaders on onboarding, growth, and retention.
  • Create a polished native iOS experience with smooth animations, responsive interactions, and platform conventions.
  • Ship features, track user journeys, run A/B tests, assess results, and iterate.
  • Oversee App Store releases, versioning, store optimization, crash monitoring, and performance improvements.
  • Help establish a dedicated mobile team as the company’s mobile capabilities expand.
  • Work with the founders and contribute to product decisions.

आवश्यकताएँ

  • At least five years of native iOS development experience.
  • Prior experience in a lead engineering role, with responsibility for technical direction and guiding engineers.
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineers while contributing directly to development.
  • Strong Swift skills and practical experience with SwiftUI and UIKit.
  • A track record of building and shipping consumer iOS apps.
  • Familiarity with Combine, push notifications, and App Store deployment.
  • Experience with Xcode, XCTest, TestFlight, and App Store Connect.
  • Strong understanding of common iOS architecture and state management patterns.
  • Experience debugging apps, improving performance, and monitoring crashes.
  • Ability to turn product goals into technical decisions and take ownership when requirements are not fully defined.
  • A hands-on, autonomous, pragmatic approach; able to move quickly and work with ambiguity and changing responsibilities.
  • Proactive communicator, comfortable working directly with founders and product stakeholders.
  • English proficiency at C1 or above for daily communication, technical discussions, and team collaboration.
  • Based in Europe.
  • EdTech experience, especially with products for students, learning, or study habits (preferred).
  • Experience at an early-stage startup or fast-growing consumer platform (preferred).
  • Experience with product-led growth, A/B testing, onboarding, or retention optimization (preferred).
  • Experience growing an engineering team or supporting technical hiring (preferred).
  • Objective-C experience (preferred).
  • Android development experience with Kotlin (preferred).
  • Familiarity with React Native, Expo, or other technologies across the wider platform (preferred).
  • Based in Portugal, especially Lisbon (preferred).
