Director of Cloud Infrastructure
Lead the rebuild of Convene Hospitality Group’s AWS deployment, AI gateway, and observability platforms. Help hospitality venues and engineering teams deliver changes safely and efficiently.

- Rebuild and own the end-to-end CI/CD path, from build and release through rollback.
- Automate deployments and establish a secure, governed release process.
- Set standards for source control, CI tools, orchestration, and infrastructure as code; explain trade-offs and lead migrations.
- Build and run the AI gateway, including provider routing, key management, rate limits, token metering, usage logs, and governance.
- Support AI-first, specification-driven development with environments, pipelines, guardrails, temporary environments, rapid feedback, and automated verification.
- Forecast AI and cloud spending and provide planning inputs to Finance.
- Track cloud costs and work with teams to manage spending.
- Support venue networking applications for access control, connectivity, and on-site audiovisual and production needs.
- Develop the observability platform for logs, metrics, alerts, and routing, using Loki and Grafana.
- Coordinate work with product and corporate engineering teams.
- Write runbooks, assign backup operators, train colleagues, and share operational knowledge.
- Lead the platform with significant autonomy; the role currently has no direct reports.

- Bring at least nine years of experience building and operating production cloud infrastructure.
- Have deep AWS expertise, including multi-account architecture, networking, IAM, and container orchestration with EKS and/or ECS.
- Have operated production workloads through incidents, upgrades, and periods of growth.
- Be fluent in infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or an equivalent tool.
- Have built or rebuilt CI/CD pipelines and helped organizations move from manual to automated deployments.
- Understand security and governance practices, including secrets management, least privilege, audit trails, isolated environments, and deployment permissions.
- Have run AI systems in production, including gateway access controls, provider routing, cost attribution, observability, and LLM-powered features.
- Have experience evaluating, monitoring, and versioning AI systems.
- Be able to estimate architecture costs and explain the reasoning behind them.
- Have used AI agents for substantive multi-step work beyond autocomplete and verified their output.
- Be able to explain decisions, risks, and trade-offs to technical teams, nontechnical colleagues, and executives.
- No educational credential is explicitly required.
