Field Technician III Nevada Remote

Astreya is seeking a Field Technician III to support data centers and Points of Presence throughout Nevada. The role covers telecom equipment installation, testing, maintenance, cabling, power systems, and network infrastructure.

Tavsif

  • Support assigned data centers, Points of Presence (POPs), and other physical site services
  • Work with network teams and local vendors on installation, repair, and maintenance activities
  • Implement physical-layer rack-and-stack configurations
  • Uphold quality standards at assigned data centers and remote POPs
  • Complete physical installation, repairs, maintenance, and testing
  • Install or replace cards, carry out software upgrades, and complete related testing
  • Suggest process improvements that enhance network asset quality and operational efficiency
  • Assist with site surveys for OSP and ISP initiatives, major space and power projects, and equipment deployments
  • Conduct site audits and resolve data discrepancies with Network Surveillance and other teams
  • Oversee local construction vendors to ensure adherence to MOPs, standards, quality expectations, and cleanliness requirements
  • Coordinate with LECs and other technicians on installation, repair, and maintenance work
  • Conduct site surveys for network builds, augmentations, and decommissions
  • Arrange site access, equipment staging, and related activities
  • Mentor less experienced team members when needed
  • Travel as required

Talablar

  • An associate degree or equivalent technical-school education plus at least five years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on experience with data center and POP infrastructure, including OSP, ISP, interfacility cabling, fiber and copper distribution, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack, cabinet, or cage construction
  • Experience installing and maintaining telecom and network equipment such as DWDMs, backbone and management routers, IP switches, and optical and digital infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of splicing and work performed in manholes, vaults, or handholes
  • Experience using telecom test equipment, including microscopes, light sources, power meters, and OTDRs, as well as testing SONET and Ethernet bandwidths
  • Strong knowledge of telecom testing standards and procedures for length, wire mapping, bit error rate, power, delay, loss, reflectance, and dispersion
  • Familiarity with state and local regulatory standards, procedures, and permitting requirements
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with LEC and telecom provider technicians, landlords, electricians, construction operators, and nontechnical end users
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and act appropriately with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, workflow and project management tools, and administrative software
  • Experience using a Tier 1 ITSM platform
  • Ability to complete office tasks requiring extended sitting or standing, movement through an office, computer use, and effective communication
  • Willingness to perform occasional repetitive movements involving the wrists, hands, or fingers when required by the position
