Designs ship components and systems for HII’s naval vessels. Develops CAD layouts and works with engineering and production teams to prepare designs for manufacturing.
Descriere
- Design ship components or sections of systems.
- Revise existing designs to improve products and support manufacturing.
- Use computer-aided design and graphics tools, including CAD, CAM, or CATIA.
- Collect information, conduct studies and calculations, and prepare initial layouts and sketches.
- Present design proposals.
- Align design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, materials, and planning teams.
- Account for manufacturability, material availability, and contract specifications.
Cerințe
- High school diploma or GED plus 7 years of experience, or an associate or other two-year technical degree in a related field plus 3 years of experience.
- Proficiency with ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and ORION/IFS.
- Experience or knowledge in plate shaping, rolling, and forming.
- Knowledge of build-area workstations and material flow.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
