Senior Structural Engineer – Bridge Design | Richmond, VA Onsite

Descriere

  • Prepare plans, specifications, and inspection documentation
  • Design bridges and related transportation structures, including culverts, retaining walls, and sound walls
  • Apply quality controls while delivering projects on schedule and within budget
  • Investigate and resolve design issues through field reviews, inspections, detailed design, and calculation checks
  • Coordinate designated design elements across project workstreams
  • Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Direct project tasks through team coordination, scheduling, and supervision
  • Partner with other disciplines on multidisciplinary assignments
  • Engage clients through meetings, calls, and written correspondence
  • Support bridge design and rehabilitation projects for VDOT, municipalities, and counties as part of the Structural Group

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required
  • A master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus is preferred but not mandatory
  • At least 10 years of bridge or marine-structure design experience
  • Experience designing both bridge and marine structures is advantageous
  • Professional Engineer registration is required
  • Previous VDOT or other Department of Transportation project experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with MathCAD is required
  • Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD is required
  • Experience with STAAD is required
  • Experience with SAP2000, CSiBridge, LARSA 4D, DESCUS, and Bentley LEAP Bridge Suite is preferred
  • Successful completion of a post-offer pre-employment background check compliant with NIST 800-171 is required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide required hiring documentation
  • Must be able to traverse unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment during some site visits
