Senior Solutions Architect, AMR Warehouse Automation — Ocado Group (Remote, United States)
Design autonomous mobile robot warehouse solutions for Ocado Group’s online grocery platform. Support sales and clients through system modeling, consulting, simulation, and technical solution development.
Descriere
- Design and configure Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) solutions tailored to client operations
- Use industrial engineering methods to size and model warehouse systems
- Apply simulation tools to forecast system behavior, capacity, and throughput
- Perform capacity planning, layout optimization, and workflow analysis
- Join sales teams on client site visits and assess business requirements
- Advise on software integrations and represent client needs in product discussions
- Produce schematics, layouts, design documentation, Software Design Documents (SDDs), and reference architectures with SketchUp and AutoCAD
- Partner with sales on solution proposals, pre-contract blueprinting sessions, and technical presentations
- Define software descriptions, interfaces, functionality, and infrastructure requirements with product teams
- Investigate client needs and support marketing with sales materials and market propositions
- Explain AMR system capabilities and optimization opportunities to prospective clients
- Coordinate with engineering, product management, and project management teams
- Present solutions and demonstrations to technical stakeholders and C-level executives
- Analyze client data to uncover workflow and product optimization opportunities
- Provide implementation-phase technical support to confirm solutions meet specifications and client expectations
Cerințe
- At least five years of experience designing and implementing warehouse automation systems, particularly mobile robotics
- Previous experience as a Solutions Architect or in a comparable position
- Consulting or technology-company experience managing and guiding client needs and requirements
- Proficiency in system modeling, capacity planning, and layout optimization
- Strong knowledge of material flow, process optimization, and time-motion studies
- Experience with industrial-engineering simulation tools and methods for system design and analysis
- Proficiency with SketchUp, AutoCAD, and related design software
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), supply chain planning systems, and their integrations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to present to and influence senior management and C-level executives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including a record of creating solutions to complex challenges
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with flexibility to adapt communication and approach
- Availability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Up to 30% travel across North America may be required
