Remote Azure Cloud Engineer – Virginia Tolling

Descriere

  • Manage and support resources in the tolling Azure environment
  • Apply Virginia government requirements for security, IAM, network controls, and cost governance
  • Maintain infrastructure records, naming conventions, tagging practices, and cloud governance materials
  • Support access reviews, role assignments, and least-privilege IAM assessments
  • Coordinate vendor-mandated updates and verify compatibility
  • Design and implement fault-tolerant, highly available Azure solutions
  • Monitor Azure services and application workloads for uptime and availability
  • Diagnose connectivity, access, security, performance, and service degradation problems
  • Investigate issues using logs, metrics, traces, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics
  • Assess and optimize system and application performance
  • Participate in operational reviews, monitoring activities, incident assessments, and maintenance readiness checks
  • Triage production incidents, drive timely resolution, and record root-cause findings
  • Perform and support after-hours activities when required
  • Prepare change requests, implementation plans, and rollback procedures
  • Trace data flows across tolling platforms, roadway information, financial transactions, and reporting systems
  • Support integration improvements and data-transfer optimization
  • Apply PCI and other regulatory requirements when assessing system behavior and logging
  • Administer key vaults, passwords, certificates, and protected credential storage
  • Work with architects, engineers, managers, and other teams to use Azure services effectively
  • Advise on best practices across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to several concurrent projects with complex technical requirements

Cerințe

  • At least three years of experience with Microsoft Azure services
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or comparable experience
  • Ability to explain requirements and design concepts clearly
  • Experience working in Windows environments
  • Experience administering Office 365 and Single Sign-On, including Entra ID
  • Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and/or Python
  • Ability to produce network and system topology documentation
  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Experience with Office 365 services and Power Apps
  • Fingerprint-based background screening is required
  • At least two years working with Microsoft Windows environments, version 2019 or later
  • At least two years of experience with server infrastructure, protocols, firewalls, certificates, and load balancers
  • At least three years of Azure administration or engineering experience
  • At least two years working with networking, Windows/Linux server administration, databases, and cloud environments
  • At least two years of PowerShell or Python scripting experience
  • Azure certification is preferred
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, or TFS is desired
