Operations and Conversion Manager - Mesa Convention Center

Lead venue operations and event conversions at Mesa Convention Center in an onsite role. Coordinate event setups, vendors, safety, equipment, and execution across conferences, festivals, concerts, and other live programs.

Descriere

  • Support the Director of Operations in managing venue functions across Engineering, Building & Grounds, Technical Services, Event Services, Public Safety, Security, Custodial, and Parking
  • Coordinate operational work with internal teams, clients, promoters, contractors, and external vendors
  • Confirm that event spaces, meeting rooms, exhibit halls, outdoor areas, and amphitheater facilities are ready for use
  • Act as Manager on Duty during events, providing leadership, decisions, and solutions to operational issues
  • Identify potential operational problems and implement measures to reduce disruption
  • Facilitate communication among departments regarding event needs and operating plans
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, life safety, ADA, and facility requirements
  • Lead and participate in event setups, room turnovers, changeovers, and venue conversions
  • Confirm that equipment, materials, and other resources are available and correctly positioned for setup and teardown
  • Coordinate the movement, storage, loading, and unloading of equipment, furnishings, staging, and client materials
  • Read and apply event layouts, CAD drawings, diagrams, and setup directions
  • Supervise the installation and removal of seating arrangements, staging, risers, platforms, scaffolding, and related infrastructure
  • Operate and oversee the safe use of forklifts, pallet jacks, riding scrubbers, and other facility equipment
  • Keep setup areas and storage spaces orderly, clean, and ready for future events

Cerințe

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in facility management, business administration, engineering, event management, or a related discipline
  • Three to five or more years of experience in venue operations, event services, event conversions, facility management, convention centers, arenas, amphitheaters, stadiums, or comparable settings
  • Preferred one to three or more years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale events, conventions, concerts, festivals, and multi-day programs
  • Preferred experience operating event and facility equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging systems, and related tools
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to supervise, coach, and develop employees
  • Strong customer service focus and effective problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of facility operations, event conversions, safety practices, and OSHA regulations
  • Preferred familiarity with Microsoft Office and facility management systems
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining close attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods as needed
  • Availability for a nontraditional schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
