NETA Field Service Technician

Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems for Shermco Industries. Travel to industrial and commercial customer sites to support low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment.

Descriere

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, start up, and collect data for 480-volt to 600-kV electrical systems at industrial and commercial customer sites
  • Test instrument transformers
  • Conduct Doble, TTR, and insulation-resistance testing on power transformers
  • Test electromechanical and solid-state relays
  • Perform Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot cable testing
  • Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches
  • Test low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers
  • Complete moderately complex relay calibration and power-metering tasks
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotations and respond promptly to customer emergencies
  • Collaborate with fellow professionals to complete work safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards

Cerințe

  • Drive locally or regionally each day and be available for periodic overnight travel
  • An associate degree in Electrical Power & Controls from an accredited two-year technical college, an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree, or comparable military experience and training is preferred
  • NETA Certification I, II, III, or IV, or a comparable certification, is preferred
  • At least two years of relevant experience testing and troubleshooting switchgear
  • Proficiency with email, internet tools, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus
  • Ability to work safely and follow all electrical safety procedures
  • OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, CPR, First Aid, BBP, and AED training is preferred
  • Remain drug-free and pass a pre-employment hair-follicle drug test plus periodic unannounced random tests
  • Satisfactory pre-employment criminal background check
  • Physical ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to crawl, climb, stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to pass a fit-for-duty physical examination
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime, including occasional weekends, holidays, and nights
  • Must not now or in the future require sponsorship to work in the United States
  • Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills
  • Willingness to travel at least 40% of the time
  • Employment offers are contingent on acceptable background-check and drug-and-alcohol-screening results
