Legal and Compliance Counsel – APAC, Kuala Lumpur Hybrid
Serve as Legal and Compliance Counsel for Knauf’s APAC construction-materials business. Lead regional compliance programs, legal risk mitigation, audits, training, and stakeholder support.
Descriere
- Advise the business on contracts, negotiations, disputes, intellectual property, and company secretarial matters
- Draft, maintain, and implement policies covering data protection, antitrust, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, gifts and donations, conflicts of interest, and related compliance areas
- Design and roll out legal and compliance frameworks across the APAC region
- Create legal and compliance procedures aligned with operational needs and recognized best practices
- Deliver guidance and training to stakeholders and local markets
- Track emerging APAC laws and regulations and recommend appropriate compliance measures
- Assess legal and compliance exposure and recommend strategic mitigation actions
- Strengthen compliance awareness and culture across APAC
- Develop training materials and deliver legal and compliance sessions
- Perform compliance reviews and audits to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Serve as the legal and compliance contact for local business units
- Prepare APAC legal and compliance reports for senior management
Cerințe
- Bachelor’s degree in law, such as an LLB, or an equivalent qualification
- Five to eight years of experience at a reputable law firm and/or in an in-house legal role
- Broad general legal expertise
- Strong technical, drafting, research, and analytical capabilities
- Sound commercial judgment and practical business acumen
- Experience implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures is advantageous
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and influence them constructively
- Capacity to work independently
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence communicating with people of varying seniority, expertise, roles, and cultural backgrounds
- Willingness to lead Legal and Compliance projects when required
- Strong presentation and training abilities
- Experience with content creation tools such as Canva is advantageous
