Junior Power Systems Engineer
Support ABB’s global clients with power system studies, grid integration, and renewable energy projects. Contribute to electrical consultancy work from analysis through commissioning.
Descriere
- Deliver power engineering work across projects for global clients.
- Provide technical input and leadership on complex projects.
- Work with clients to understand technical and business needs and turn them into practical engineering solutions.
- Ensure project work meets client expectations, quality standards, deadlines, and budget requirements.
- Carry out power systems analysis using established methods and software tools.
- Prepare technical and non-technical reports with clear recommendations and practical insights.
- Join remote client meetings and build strong working relationships.
- Communicate responsively to manage client expectations.
- Monitor and report on project performance and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers.
- Carry out load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and system resilience studies.
- Conduct electrical safety and power quality studies, including arc flash, harmonics, and earthing assessments.
- Support grid connection and renewable energy integration work.
- Assess reliability and investigate failures in critical electrical infrastructure.
- Evaluate engineering software solutions and emerging technologies.
- Support wind energy projects from design to installation and commissioning.
Cerințe
- Recent graduate or up to two years of experience in electrical or power systems engineering.
- Basic knowledge of power system analysis tools such as SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, or similar software.
- Familiarity with protection systems and some academic or practical exposure to protection settings, coordination studies, and protection schemes.
- Experience carrying out electrical calculations.
- Understanding of work conducted to IEC standards.
- Knowledge of power quality, harmonics, or renewable energy systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Ability to explain technical topics clearly and simply.
- Practical, adaptable, and technically driven approach.
- Ability to solve technical problems, collaborate, and learn new skills.
