Industrial Hygienist / Process Safety Engineer

Assess frontier AI models on chemical safety and potential misuse by crafting prompts, evaluating responses, and documenting technical judgments.

Descriere

  • Create challenging single-turn prompts about chemistry and chemical safety.
  • Classify prompts as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
  • Assess AI responses against a defined policy standard.
  • Determine whether model responses correctly address technical requests.
  • Develop reference answers and explain the technical reasoning.
  • Differentiate routine professional questions from requests that may signal misuse intent.
  • Write clear rationales that non-specialists can understand.
  • Sustain work involving reading and writing about misuse scenarios in the field.

Cerințe

  • Experience assessing actual exposures and process hazards, including approving controls.
  • Relevant expertise may include certified industrial hygiene, process hazard analysis, toxic release and dispersion modeling, chemical hazard ventilation, containment or PPE program design, or regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of exposure assessment, sampling strategy, and control banding.
  • Experience with HAZOP, LOPA, what-if studies, and management of change.
  • Experience with consequence analysis and AEGL/ERPG criteria.
  • Knowledge of PSM, Seveso, COMAH, OSHA, or equivalent national frameworks.
  • Able to write challenging single-turn prompts classified as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
  • Able to assess model responses against a defined policy standard.
  • Able to prepare reference answers and explain the technical reasoning.
  • Strong writing skills, with a clear rationale for every judgment that non-specialists can understand.
  • Technical writing, published research, or expert witness experience is a strong indicator; applicants should provide a sample or link.
  • Must not use classified or export-controlled material, information covered by an NDA, or material subject to prepublication review.
  • Relevant red-teaming experience is ideal.
