Descriere

  • Identify scientists, inventors, patents, research programmes, university spin-outs, and early-stage companies that fit the investment focus.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with universities, research institutes, technology transfer offices, founders, incubators, venture funds, and corporate innovation teams.
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline from initial screening through diligence, investment decisions, and commercial follow-up.
  • Assess scientific evidence, technology differentiation, intellectual property ownership, platform requirements, routes to market, scalability, and key risks.
  • Coordinate scientific, intellectual property, regulatory, technical, and commercial diligence.
  • Prepare recommendations covering investment, licensing, partnerships, acquisitions, incubation, and company formation.
  • Define scientific and technology screening criteria and identify priority networks for direct outreach.
  • Implement standardised initial reviews covering evidence, intellectual property ownership, commercial potential, and risk factors.
  • Evaluate commercial potential and advise whether to invest, license, partner, or establish new ventures.

Cerințe

  • Demonstrated experience sourcing scientific technologies, intellectual property, university spin-outs, or early-stage companies.
  • A credible, established network spanning universities, research institutes, technology transfer offices, founders, or investors.
  • Ability to analyse technology and platform requirements and assess investment or business-development viability.
  • Working knowledge of patents, licensing, inventorship, and intellectual property ownership.
  • Commercial judgement and the ability to engage effectively with scientists, founders, investors, and corporate partners.
  • Sound judgement regarding confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and ownership of work product.
  • Availability for cross-border calls across Asian and United States time zones.
  • Experience in biotech, pharma, life sciences, medtech, diagnostics, deep tech, or another science-led field.
  • Background in technology transfer, external innovation, venture capital, corporate venturing, or venture building.
  • Experience supporting university spin-outs and advancing research toward commercial products.
  • Business growth and development experience distinguishing scalable opportunities from those constrained by market conditions.
