Military Health UI/UX Designer

Designing accessible clinical interfaces, prototypes, and data tools to improve military healthcare workflows for LMI’s Defense Health Agency program.

Apraksts

  • Use an iterative, design thinking approach to solve complex challenges in strategic planning, process improvement, technology adoption, and service delivery.
  • Lead discovery and innovation workshops with government and other stakeholders using human-centered methods.
  • Turn research and data into clear stories and insights that inform service and technology improvements.
  • Partner with product owners, clinicians, program leaders, and end users to identify needs, pain points, and opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, visual designs, and interaction patterns for varied audiences.
  • Create and deliver tailored interventions and workshops that strengthen organizational and team performance.
  • Use Human-Centered Design practices, including empathetic interviews, needs assessments, co-design sessions, and iterative refinement.
  • Ensure designs follow the platform design system, UX philosophy, and Total Experience goals.
  • Conduct usability testing, user interviews, and field validation with clinical staff and patients, then refine designs based on results.
  • Guide developers during implementation and preserve design fidelity throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate stakeholder and clinical user interviews, and review mockups and prototypes.
  • Work with engineering teams to define features that address clinical and operational needs, and build advanced prototypes using data or emerging technology.
  • Use analytics and data to improve interfaces, clinical workflows, and the overall user experience.
  • Help design data-entry interfaces, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Contribute to design standards, Section 508 accessibility, and scalable design systems.
  • Develop internal HTML and CSS style guides.
  • Follow Agile practices, including backlog work and iterative delivery.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of UX/UI or product design experience, including demonstrated work in federal, healthcare, or clinical settings.
  • A portfolio showing enterprise application design, preferably in military, federal health, or business process improvement settings.
  • Working knowledge of Human-Centered Design or Design Thinking, including needs assessment and co-design facilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply design thinking or HCD methods and tools to client challenges.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong grounding in visual and interaction design, accessibility, and responsive layouts.
  • Understanding of UX principles, patterns, and Section 508 compliance in secure government environments.
  • Ability to interpret usage data and turn it into actionable product and design direction.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus basic JavaScript knowledge.
  • Ability to obtain public trust; U.S. citizenship required.
  • Familiarity with Advana and War Data Platform.
  • Databricks UI/UX development experience preferred.
  • Experience designing for Total Experience (TX).
  • Experience with Agile delivery, including backlog management and iterative, user-centered development.
  • UX certification from Nielsen Norman Group, LUMA Institute, Human Factors International, General Assembly, or equivalent.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility preferred.
