  • Own and evolve Stitch Fix’s enterprise technology architecture.
  • Define target-state principles, platform capabilities, and modernization paths aligned with business and product strategy.
  • Turn strategic business priorities into architecture decisions and investment roadmaps.
  • Work with product and engineering leaders on customer-facing features, internal tools, data products, and AI-enabled experiences.
  • Establish architecture governance, including decision rights, reviews, reference architectures, and technical standards.
  • Assess and prioritize systemic risks, legacy limitations, resilience gaps, integration complexity, performance bottlenecks, security concerns, and operating costs.
  • Develop multi-year investment plans for platform modernization, cloud infrastructure, developer productivity, observability, data architecture, integration patterns, reliability engineering, and technical debt reduction.
  • Set standards for service reliability, disaster recovery, performance, scalability, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Guide the data and AI foundations needed for trustworthy, scalable use in customer experiences, merchandising, operations, and internal workflows.
  • Improve engineering efficiency through simplification, reusable platforms, automation, and lower total cost of ownership.
  • Advise the CPTO and executive stakeholders on technical decisions, investment trade-offs, vendor selection, build-versus-buy choices, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop an architecture community and nurture senior technical talent.
  • Explain technical strategy and architectural trade-offs in clear business terms.
  • Report to the Chief Product & Technology Officer.

  • Bring deep, hands-on technical leadership experience as a Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, VP of Architecture, or in a comparable role at a complex digital, e-commerce, marketplace, or consumer technology company.
  • Have led large-scale architecture modernization across distributed systems, cloud platforms, data ecosystems, integrations, and customer-facing applications.
  • Know how to design resilient, scalable, secure, observable systems, with expertise in reliability engineering, performance, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.
  • Use sound judgment to balance near-term product delivery with long-term platform health.
  • Have established architecture principles, technical standards, reference patterns, and governance practices.
  • Be fluent in cloud-native engineering, APIs and event-driven integration, data platforms, AI and machine-learning foundations, security, and developer productivity practices.
  • Assess technology investments by business value, risk, lifecycle cost, scalability, and organizational capability.
  • Influence and communicate exceptionally well with engineers, product leaders, executives, and non-technical business partners.
  • Lead through coaching, developing senior talent and encouraging constructive debate, curiosity, and accountability.
  • Favor pragmatic action, continuous improvement, and simple, durable solutions.
  • Be based in the United States.
