Med-Metrix is seeking an onsite Collections Representative in Garden City, New York, to recover patient balances, establish payment arrangements, and communicate with health insurers. The role manages patient accounts while adhering to FDCPA and HIPAA requirements.

- Conduct daily collection calls
- Process payments for outstanding balances
- Establish payment plans for individuals unable to pay their full debt
- Issue correspondence about delinquent accounts
- Submit daily and weekly status updates to management
- Communicate with health insurance carriers
- Handle a high volume of patient accounts each week
- Work with the legal department on skip tracing, asset searches, and garnishments
- Handle, safeguard, and disclose protected health information in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Restrict access to protected health information to the minimum necessary for assigned responsibilities
- Complete additional duties as assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- An associate degree is preferred
- Drive performance against weekly goals and monthly quotas
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking abilities, with sound judgment and the capacity to make decisions from accurate, timely analysis

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes

- Ability to meet the specified physical requirements and use computers, telephones, and other office equipment
- Adherence to FDCPA guidelines, HIPAA standards, and applicable information security and HIPAA policies and procedures
