VP Senior Cloud Data Architecture and Migration Leader

Lead Synchrony’s hybrid U.S. cloud data modernization strategy across secure platforms, enterprise architecture, AI, and analytics. Guide migration roadmaps, data products, and large-scale transformation across a financial-services environment.

Description

  • Own enterprise cloud data migration strategy, roadmaps, and delivery for complex modernization programs
  • Set the strategic direction, capability model, adoption approach, and value roadmap for cloud data platforms and products
  • Provide executive architecture leadership across cloud platforms, lakehouse and data mesh models, event-driven systems, APIs, semantic layers, AI and advanced analytics ecosystems, and operational data use cases
  • Prioritize, sequence, and deliver migration programs across legacy data environments
  • Work with business, technology, security, risk, data, analytics, operations, and product leaders to assess environments, identify modernization opportunities, resolve trade-offs, and achieve measurable results
  • Create reusable migration frameworks, product operating models, architecture principles, design patterns, reference architectures, governance controls, and delivery standards
  • Align enterprise architecture, engineering, product, analytics, platform, and delivery organizations around transformation priorities
  • Lead executive communications, progress reporting, roadmap reviews, and decision forums
  • Coach and mentor architects, product owners, engineers, and delivery leaders
  • Assess emerging developments in cloud, AI, automation, data architecture, and product delivery
  • Handle additional duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, data management, business, or a related field plus 8+ years in information technology, data architecture, enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, data product management, technology transformation, or related work; alternatively, 10+ years of hands-on experience in one of these areas without a bachelor’s degree
  • At least 5 years leading or delivering data platform modernization, cloud migration, enterprise data architecture, data products, or large-scale technology transformation
  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, data integration, governance, security, IAM, data protection, analytics ecosystems, and operational data capabilities
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise roadmaps, migration strategies, product capability plans, adoption strategies, implementation standards, and measurable business outcomes
  • Experience engaging senior stakeholders and executives on prioritization and decisions across business, technology, architecture, security, risk, product, data, and analytics functions
  • Strong knowledge of data consumption patterns, query performance, user experience, discoverability, resiliency, cost optimization, controls, and operational readiness in cloud data environments
  • Agile delivery experience with JIRA or comparable tools
  • Ability to lead globally distributed Agile teams across competing priorities, time zones, and delivery cadences
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
  • Deep knowledge of SAFe Agile and experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives at enterprise scale
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for business as needed
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to complete a drug test, background investigation, and fingerprinting
  • Ability to meet Section 19 requirements of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
