University Admissions Counselor – California Territory

University Admissions Counselor supporting prospective students from California who are interested in Grand Canyon University’s traditional campus. This remote role involves student counseling and extensive travel throughout California.

Description

  • Manage the California territory as a University Admissions Counselor
  • Design and deliver events and outreach activities that increase awareness of academic programs and campus life while generating inquiries
  • Advise prospective students and their families in person and through phone, email, text, and Zoom
  • Build connections with community college students, faculty, and staff
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the assigned territory
  • Participate in fairs, school visits, presentations, community and campus events, and campus visits
  • Represent Grand Canyon University and contribute to institutional growth
  • Work independently from home while assisting prospective students and families throughout the admissions process
  • Support students from application submission through their first weeks on campus
  • Advise students and families from diverse backgrounds while building relationships with community colleges and their staff

Requirements

  • Reside in or near Phoenix, Arizona
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree
  • Have no delinquent or defaulted federal student loans, as confirmed by a credit report; applicants in rehabilitation must show current payments on the report
  • Demonstrate strong time-management and organizational abilities
  • Communicate clearly and present information engagingly
  • Apply well-developed listening skills
  • Show self-motivation and a results-oriented approach
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and empathy

  • Have dependable transportation and be able to use a personal vehicle
  • Maintain a flexible schedule and be willing to travel extensively
