Trust & Safety Software Engineer (Europe, Remote)
Build real-time anti-abuse and trust systems for Resend’s developer email platform. Create detection, enforcement, and machine-learning pipelines that protect legitimate senders.

- Operate the real-time enforcement layer within a millisecond latency budget
- Design signal-to-decision-to-action pipelines spanning sending, receiving, and account activity
- Create detection rules and policies that can be updated safely
- Identify and contain account takeovers and leaked API keys
- Monitor detection precision and retire systems that harm legitimate senders
- Automate investigations, appeals, and bulk enforcement actions
- Develop and assess machine-learning classifiers for spam and phishing
- Add safeguards and maintain traceability through logs, metrics, and audit trails
- Lead projects from initial discovery through production delivery
- Work closely with developers who use Resend’s email platform
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Deep experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, Hono, and Next.js
- Experience with Go or willingness to learn it
- Infrastructure and reliability expertise using AWS, CDK, and Datadog
- Experience building APIs, event-driven architectures, queues, and stateful services
- Ability to design systems that fail safely and treat false positives as defects
- Experience with observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, and error handling
- Ability to own full-stack systems from frontend surfaces through databases and queues
- Demonstrated experience with Postgres and Redis
- Trust and safety, fraud, or security experience is preferred for exceptional fit
- Experience building real-time enforcement systems, such as rate limiters or rules engines, is preferred for exceptional fit
- Production experience delivering ML- or LLM-based detection and measuring precision and recall is preferred for exceptional fit
- Knowledge of email technologies such as SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounces, complaints, and phishing campaigns is preferred for exceptional fit
- Knowledge of Postgres and Redis performance tuning is preferred for exceptional fit
