Transportation Claims Adjuster (Remote, United States)

Handle bodily injury, physical damage, and litigation claims for asset-based carrier Charger Logistics. Coordinate investigations, vendors, insurers, and safety teams throughout the claims process.

Description

  • Assess and resolve complex claims, including litigated matters, while meeting legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage investigations, evaluations, and resolutions for bodily injury claims involving company vehicles or drivers.
  • Compile accurate file summaries for internal reporting, large-loss reviews, and reinsurance requirements.
  • Process bodily injury claims according to industry standards and company policies.
  • Adjust physical damage claims, including damage that was not initially reported.
  • Negotiate with insurer adjusters, claimants, and third-party representatives after receiving key claim information.
  • Review accidents, damage, preventability, and related procedures with commercial vehicle operators.
  • Maintain documentation for litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Submit claim and accident reports as required.
  • Provide overnight and weekend on-call coverage for serious accidents and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Choose, oversee, and manage towing, body shop, garage, and parking or storage vendors to establish accurate settlement costs.
  • Record and update repair payments.
  • Obtain police reports, open claim files, and verify losses with insurers and brokers.
  • Coordinate with Claims, Safety and Compliance, and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in insurance or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in trucking, claims, or safety and compliance is preferred.
  • Experience handling commercial lines and transportation liability claims.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong multitasking, time-management, customer service, and organizational abilities.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to remain composed during crisis situations.
