Staff Product Manager, AI Research & Engineering — California Remote

Lead product strategy for AI training-data pipelines, human feedback systems, and research workflows. Help advance Collectors’ grading, authentication, and marketplace technology for collectibles.

Description

  • Set the strategy for training-data capabilities and prioritize data acquisition initiatives.
  • Make decisions on data quality, review depth, confidence thresholds, and operating costs.
  • Manage the complete data lifecycle, from procurement and preparation through capture, expert labeling, and annotation.
  • Create scalable systems that support each stage of data collection.
  • Coordinate teams and sites to increase throughput and inform capacity planning.
  • Design human-review workflows and feedback loops that turn corrections into training data.
  • Work with ML Engineering, Operations, and subject matter experts to establish direction and deliver results.
  • Establish metrics covering data quality, model gains, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Keep senior leadership informed about progress, decisions, and tradeoffs.
  • Coach Product Managers and strengthen product practices and documentation.
  • Apply Claude Cowork, Claude Code, Codex, and other emerging AI tools and coding agents to speed product development and improve workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of product management experience.
  • Demonstrated success building a product, platform, or capability from the ground up.
  • Background in AI/ML or AI-supported operational workflows.
  • Understanding of processes that combine machine-learning models with human expertise.
  • Strong systems thinking across complex, multi-stage workflows.
  • Track record of owning measurable outcomes related to cost, efficiency, or quality.
  • Ability to influence technical teams, operators, and subject matter experts without formal authority.
  • Practical experience creating processes, pipelines, documentation, and operating mechanisms.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for technical and business audiences.
  • Willingness to visit multiple data-collection sites approximately monthly to quarterly.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with eligibility verified through e-Verify.
