Solution Architect – Healthcare Systems (Hybrid, Epsom)

Description
- Lead technical discovery across applications, platforms, and infrastructure throughout the estate
- Map the existing architecture, including dependencies, data flows, and integration points
- Define target and transitional architectures that support enterprise strategy and programme goals
- Determine which systems and services should be adapted, enhanced, or replaced to deliver future capabilities
- Design and oversee integrations using APIs, messaging patterns, and data exchange mechanisms
- Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, and interface specifications
- Work with delivery teams, subject-matter experts, and third-party suppliers to create practical, deliverable solutions
- Track and manage technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the solution lifecycle
- Ensure architectures are scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable
- Present designs to the Technical Design Authority, respond to feedback, and obtain approval
- Provide architectural assurance and guidance as solutions move into delivery
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering healthcare systems, preferably in complex enterprise environments
- Background in healthcare transformation and service modernisation
- Experience delivering digital transformation and modernising services
- Experience collaborating with third-party solution providers and vendors
- Experience managing commercial CRM application portfolios, particularly Salesforce
- Experience with data mapping and standardisation
- Evidence of applying technical architecture and principles to improve user experience and the backend functionality of products and platforms
- Strong understanding of API-led architecture and integration strategies
- Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting demanding deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences
- Confidence working across organisational, technical, and stakeholder boundaries
- Strategic perspective with the ability to connect architecture decisions to long-term business objectives
