Senior Technical Architect, Federal Data Integration — Peraton (Remote)

Lead architecture, API integration, ETL mapping, interoperability testing, and migration planning for Peraton’s federal species-data integration program. Support FWS and NOAA data interoperability, technical documentation, compliance validation, and production deployment readiness.

Description

  • Assist the Technical Architect subject-matter expert with system architecture, integration planning, and documentation of technical decisions
  • Lead source-to-target mapping specifications for ETL pipeline development
  • Design application integration architecture for federal species data, including API specifications, data-access patterns, and decision-logic integration points
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts such as integration diagrams, data-flow diagrams, and API specifications
  • Define interoperability testing architecture and coverage for API connectivity, authentication, data exchange, metadata alignment, and end-to-end flows
  • Help produce the production migration runbook, covering cutover activities, validation checks, deployment sequencing, and rollback procedures
  • Review code and pipeline deployments to enforce peer-review requirements
  • Assist with technical compliance validation, including decision-logic accuracy and consultation-routing correctness
  • Contribute to a federal migration program integrating marine and anadromous species data into the existing FWS platform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of professional experience, master’s degree with 10 years, associate’s degree with 16 years, or high school diploma or equivalent with 18 years of professional experience
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Extensive systems architecture or technical design experience on federal IT programs
  • Experience designing API integration architectures and data-flow documentation for federal systems
  • Strong understanding of federal IT governance frameworks and hybrid AWS cloud standards
  • Experience designing interoperability tests and producing related technical documentation
  • Experience creating production migration runbooks with cutover, validation, and rollback procedures
  • Familiarity with Git or an equivalent version-control platform for technical reviews and deployment oversight
  • Experience with REST API design standards and API gateway patterns for federal integrations
  • Ability to produce architecture deliverables, including integration diagrams and API specifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred
  • TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification
  • Experience with Databricks, Delta Live Tables, or AWS cloud ETL pipeline architectures
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST SP 800-171 compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with the IPaC platform or DKey consultation systems used in federal environmental decision-support tools
  • Experience in DOI, FWS, or NOAA Fisheries IT environments
  • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification
